Confidance delivering CPD for staff at Wyvern School

Training

We believe that sharing our practice with students, educators, arts organisations and venues can help us achieve our mission of creating an integrated society with equity of dance opportunity for all.

CPD for Schools

We embed CPD for teaching staff into all of our projects with schools, and also offer bespoke training twilights to share our ethos and approach to teaching dance inclusively.

In our role as artists in schools, we prioritise listening - to all pupils, staff and leadership teams - gaining insight into how best to support each school to develop their dance offer. We are interested in how a collaborative approach can offer deep impact for staff and students, and provide the greatest legacy for the work beyond our Confidance projects.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the session and think we would benefit emotionally, socially and physically from having them more often.”

Inclusion and Accessibility Training for Venues

We offer inclusion and accessibility training for arts organisations and venues across the South East,  aiming to change hearts and minds in a safe and inspiring environment. Our training focuses on changing perceptions of disability, identifying key access issues for your venue, and stimulating conversations around making long-term developments towards greater inclusion.

"It has opened my mind about so many different ways to make our venue inclusive"

“The training impassioned us to take action, backed up with practical knowledge showed through doing dance activity that was fun and also an example of inclusivity"

Student Training and Further Education

Confidance regularly delivers training to performing arts students, creating learning opportunities which explore best-practice for inclusive performance. We offer students the chance to learn about the fundamentals of person-centered practice, and how they can consider inclusion as a starting point within their own work.

“ We have collaborated on the development and delivery of a combined facilitation and creative movement outreach project over a number of years, which Jo continues to review and shape to meet the ongoing needs of both the students with SEN and MLD. Jo has an ability to simultaneously impact project participants and students directly and their peers indirectly, as the leadership skills and enthusiasm she imparts creates a ripple effect.”
